Aha, I went to the local textile shop and bought myself some nice cloths. There was a huge discount for cotton cloth (remnant anyway) and I bought a few. They feel so nice and comfortable. Perfect for kids.
My first project is a summer dress for 9 months old baby. But as I complete the dress, I realized it could also be a tunic for older kids (3-5 years old). Well, seems my cousin could fit into it. I have to do a fitting someday (after I finished the combo). I used a small flower print cotton, a plain beige cloth (sadly this one is more polyester than cotton) and 2 packet of bias tape. Voila, the finish product:

Not bad eh? Thought I got the pattern from a book "Making baby clothes" for 9 months old baby, I kinda wondered if it could fit older toddler? It is American size, and I know for a fact that westerners children are larger than Asian children. The width of the chest is around 10 inches. Anyone with a 9 months toddler care to help me out? :D

The bottom, suppose to be ruffles but looked more like pleats to me.. Oh well..
The long bias tape / shoulder strap can be adjusted, so I guess it could fit other sizes? Hmm, it could be used for a long time I guess. It looks okay for a first project. Ahh, how I wish I have a toddler to wear this.. :(
